⚡ Live in 60 seconds — install the GitHub App, pick a repo, get your /changelog URL instantly.
🤖 Works on messy commits — no Conventional Commits required; Shipnote groups and rewrites raw commit messages into clear user-facing language.
📡 Drafts by default, automation when you want it — review every entry before it ships, or flip on auto-publish and let RSS keep your users in the loop.
Three steps. Done.
Connect your repo in 60 seconds.
One click installs the Shipnote GitHub App on the repo and branch you choose. We read commit metadata only — never your source code.
Keep shipping. We watch the commits.
Every push queues a draft entry. Shipnote groups commits into Features, Fixes, and Other, and rewrites them into language your users understand — even if your commit messages are 'wip' and 'fix stuff.'
One click to go live.
Preview the draft, edit anything, hit publish. Your hosted /changelog page and RSS feed update instantly. Or turn on auto-publish and never think about it again.
Messy commits. Clean changelog. Every time.
No Conventional Commits. No templates. No discipline required. Shipnote reads whatever you actually wrote — "fix stuff," "wip," "JIRA-4421" — and turns it into prose your users can read. Every entry is a draft first: review, edit, publish. Or flip on auto-publish and let it run itself.
Free or $9/mo. That's it.

Quick answers.
How is this different from GitHub Releases? +
GitHub Releases are manual, PR-centric, and require a GitHub account to read. Shipnote runs on raw commits, fires on a schedule, and publishes a standalone public page anyone can bookmark or subscribe to via RSS. No human required to write it.
Do my commits need to follow any standard? +
No. "wip," "hotfix," "JIRA-1234 pls work" — all fine. Shipnote groups and rewrites whatever you committed into clean, user-facing sections. Messy history is the whole point.
Will Shipnote auto-publish to my customers without my review? +
Not by default. Every run creates a draft you must approve before it goes live. You can flip on auto-publish per repo once you trust the output — and you can flip it back off anytime.
Is my private repo source code sent to OpenAI? +
Only commit messages, never your source code. We use OpenAI's API on the no-training tier. Delete your account and your data is gone within 24 hours.
What happens when I hit the free tier limit? +
Your existing changelog page stays live forever. You'll see a banner showing when your next free run unlocks, or you can upgrade to Pro for $9/month for unlimited runs. We never delete your data or take your page offline.
What does $9/month actually get me? +
Unlimited runs, unlimited repos, weekly auto-publish, custom domain support, webhook notifications, and removal of the Shipnote footer. Cancel anytime; your published changelog stays live.
Your changelog is already overdue.
